Niittotalkoot Tikanlantossa / Mowing bee in Tikanlantto

Muhosjokivarressa sijaitsevaa perinnebiotooppia niitetään viidettä kertaa. Joki on voimakkaasti mutkitteleva ja vapaasti virtaava kanjonimainen vesistö, jonka varret ovat reheviä. Sen rantojen tulvaniittyjä on aikoinaan hyödynnetty heinänteossa.

Järjestäjät starttaavat lauantaina 8.8. Oulusta klo 8.30 (Tuiran Teboil kohtauspaikkana). Kokoonnutaan klo 9 mennessä Muhoksen Halpahallin pysäköintialueelle ja jatketaan yhdessä Kylmälänkyläntien varressa sijaitsevalle niitylle.

YLEISOHJEET

Töiden lomassa nautitaan talkooeväitä, joista talkoiden järjestäjä huolehtii. Ilmoitathan ennakkoon, jos sinulla on jokin erityisruokavalio. Työkalut ovat myös järjestäjän vastuulla.

Retkikengät tai kumisaappaat oman maun ja kelin mukaan. Työ ei ole likaista, mutta ulkohommiin soveltuvat vaatteet ovat sopivimmat.

Talkoot ovat hyviä tilaisuuksia harjoitella yhä harvinaisemmiksi käyviä perinnetaitoja. Työvoima on kullanarvoista – mitä enemmän porukkaa, sitä kevyempi on urakka!

This tradition biotope bounded by Muhosjoki will be mowed for the fifth time. Come experience the beautiful meandering river with lush alluvial river banks once used for haymaking.

The shared rides start from Oulu Teboil Tuira on the August 8th at 8.30. We gather at Muhos Halpahalli parking lot by 9 am, from where we continue the drive together towards the meadow located along Kylmälänkyläntie. 

You can join later with your own ride, ask for directions. When registering, tell us if you need a ride or can offer place in your car. The end time for the bee is approximate. You can participate as long as you like.

You don’t need earlier experince in mowing, but can come and try or just use rakes to pile the cut plants.The bees are a good chance to try this rare traditional skill of using scythe. All work contributions are welcome – the more volunteers, the lighter and faster the work gets done!

General instructions

We have packed lunch and light drinks provided by the association. Please inform us about any dietary restrictions while registering for a bee. Association brings the tools for the bee.

Rubber boots are recomended but not necessary if the weather allows. The work is not dirty but dress for outside work: long pants to protect from mosquitos and nettles, jacket, gloves. If you want, you can also bring a mosquito hat.

During the events, volunteers are insured by the organiser in the case of accidents or medical needs that may occur during working.
