The Communication Unit
FANC observes the Finnish nature and it’s threats. Its press releases and materials aim to raise environmental awareness in Finland and help local medias and people to understand what is going on in the Finnish environment. In addition, we help Finnish authorities by producing opinions and statements on legislative matters.
Through our national network of associations, we provide similar services at local and regional level.
FANC publishes a monthly magazine called Suomen Luonto (Nature of Finland) and six times a year a newspaper for members called Luonnonsuojelija (the Conservationist).
We provide a large website www.sll.fi for anyone interested in environmental questions. Our website users range from experts to elementary school classes. We also have a popular forum 'Window to the Nature of Finland' (Ikkuna Suomen Luontoon, www.ikkunasuomenluontoon.fi) for nature lovers.
As a national NGO, our material is mainly in Finnish.
